Where does our wallpaper come from?
Our wallpapers are printed in Lancashire an area with a proud wallpaper printing heritage. In 1990 there were over twenty five wallpaper manufacturers in the Accrington area but now Surface Print is one of the UK's last surviving mills.
They felt like the perfect fit for Bold & Noble and our customers. Four generations of Watsons have worked in the industry, their mill sits in the Accrington hillside, from the outside it's a traditional Victorian building but with modern, ecological printing technology inside.
Our wallpapers are printed using flexographic rollers onto PEFC certified papers. In simpler terms that’s paper manufacture that promotes the sustainable management of forests. The printing uses non-toxic water based inks.
During the printing phase we spent three days in Lancashire testing colour combinations, we were like kids in a sweet shop!
