Inspiration: Northeasterly

There is usually a ‘nature and the great outdoors’ theme to what we do, bringing the outside, inside.

The dramatic windswept trees on the Seven Sisters coast is one image I saw a lot on family walks as a child. It imprinted such a graphic silhouette in my imagination that it was the first approach that sprung to mind for our first wallpaper collection, alongside the South Downs wallpaper. A childhood retrospective.

While the shape itself is blustery, these silhouettes seem to have a warm resonance with many customers, they raise a wry smile and turn their heads sideways as if they're being blown over. I guess it's charm is universal.

So a simple approach, but that's where our Northeasterly design came from.
